The manifolds look great. What are the details on the lift. I am about to purchase a Titan 7000lb 4 post lift at about $2000.00.

I looked at a few different lift from 1200$ to 5000$. From Benpak to back yard buddy. I went with this lift because of the safety features that I found was on this type of lift. The only problem I found is that if you don't have a perfect level flour you lift will be level to the floor not adjusted to true level. BUT THE SAFETY FEATURES is what sold me. It is the box steel instead of the c channel design. I purchase This lift from Advantage lift it is a 9000xlt. I installed it myself and it was pretty easy if you take your time Just watch the videos.

My ceiling is 12' and I have plenty of room.

Nice lift. Unfortunately I have a 9' ceiling height to work with.

    So do I

Would love a lift to store an extra car over the winter and make maintenance much easier.

    Sadly i I don't think there is a solution ?

Put a car on the lift, remove the wheels and put it on blocks, raise it up and park underneath. Not perfect, but it will work.

If you get the rolling jack to go with the lift it makes it so you can jack the car up on the lift. Almost like a two post lift.

Nice option for the lift. And a quality lift as well. Unfortunately, I don't have the height necessary in my garage, or my budget.

    Christmas goodies here too!

I only have an 8' ceiling, so after a lot of research, I went with the largest (7000 lb.) QuickJack they had, and I *freeking* love it. I chose the 7000EXT (longer) model because it allows me to lift everything from my Z3 M Coupe to my E38's! The spacing works out perfect for every BMW I've put on it so far. Going to be doing a BMW/QuickJack thread sometime soon, as I have an alternate way of lifting the E31 that I want to experiment with/demonstrate as well.

1994 AVUS 840Ci (sadly just sold, but already replaced with a stock '95 Oxdford Green 840Ci!) - handy for taking some undercarriage shots for the new owner!

2000 M Coupe, fastest oil change I ever did! (note that since the E31 lift, I've switched the jacks around 180° to accommodate the M Coupe's jack points, but this arrangement should also work for the E31 and definitely works for the E38 too)

2001 740i Sport, valve body pressure regulator change-out and fluid/filter service

You gotta be careful on placement, as the car will move forward or backward when you lift (depending on which way the jacks are facing) so you may have to adjust the starting point of the car slightly if you want to close your garage door, or prevent the nose of the car from going through the front wall!

2000 740i Sport, transmission fluid/filter service (the unsafe way, without QuickJack, and on an incline, where the transmission has to be level for proper filling! NEVER AGAIN!)

That is the perfect option for low ceiling!! And you have the right length too. Because I got the 5000 version regular/short length and it really to short for anything longer that a 3 series. I love those wheel on your 8!!!! What is the size of your wheel setup?

I got a great deal on a new in box 5000SLX locally and I love it but it is only just long enough for E31. I would definitely buy a longer model if buying new from factory.

Sorry, I missed your question about the AVUS' Hamann wheels.... I'm not sure of the widths and offsets, although I know I've been asked that in the past and got the answers. But this statement was from the SoCal 8's newsletter which featured the car:

    • Nov 2003: 19" Hamann PG3’s. He purchased and installed at D2 Technik, Alhambra, CA. These wheels were on the owner’s red 850i in the showroom and were in as-new condition. He fell in love with the look on the 850i and purchased those very wheels and tires off of his car. He probably never would have sprung for them, he had not first been able to see them installed on an 8 Series in person. The fenders were also rolled in the rear at D2 Technik.

No worries, I was thinking of 19" wheels too.

I only have a single garage however would like a lift like this so I can store my other car in winter however i think my issue will be headroom. My garage is only 2.7 metres high. What height is your ceiling?

My garage is 9' tall(2.74m), and it is not tall enough to put my 8 on the lift and park my wife's Charger below. It really depends on how tall your cars are.

My ceiling is 12' or 4 meters. i think the min height I would go with is 3.5 meters or over 10ft. But you can get one in a lower ceiling garage. You should measure the height of the car then add the height of the car you want under the lift. Add another 10" and that will be the lowest your ceiling should be.
    BMW1 = 46" + BMW2 = 46" total: 92" 92" + 10" = 102" 102"= 8.5Feet or 2.8 Meter

Here is another example on how to see if you garage is high enough. I got the advantage.

Thanks Guys, looks like I need a bigger garage although it is close as BMW 840 is 52.8" and other car is 50" plus the 10" = 112.8" or 2.825M

Wonder if I can raise the roof

I have seen some garages where they raised the ceiling to accommodate the roof line of the lifted car.

i've looked at this quickjack , but i just dont know about crawling up under there doing suspension work by myself... ive watched videos on how much weight it can hold, but im still at odds over it... any words of encouragement ? also, i didnt think the 7000 extended would fit the 8.. i measured using there formula, and i gathered the 5000 would be best..

From pictures I have from the back side of the wheel, looks like 11x19 with a 20 offset. Fronts we're 9.5. not sure on those.
