    1982 320i coilover options?

Looking for suggestions on affordable adjustable coilovers to lower the 320i.
Or does anybody have a set for sale?

    Thanks

My son and I are looking at some European options. A guy in Italy is fitting and testing some more common adjustable lowering coilovers on a E21($300eu).
We just cant justify $1400 worth of coils on a $1500 car.
Something my son and I are kinda seeing is that a complete, good shape E21 has little worth, but if you want parts.... they're stupid expensive. We'll have fun playing with it, keeping a close watch on budget, but when we get ready to sell, looks like we will get much more for it in parts than selling the car....

Worth of car is only based on the value to you - you building it to sell or drive and enjoy?

I have spent more on tires and wheels then I paid for two of my E21s - I just like fixing up cars and driving them. Then how much would you spend on something newer and what would maintenance cost on it?

I have owned the silver one for 29 years or so now ( ?? WOW ??) just figured that out. Anyway it is on its third engine as I drive it hard, and have enjoyed it most of the time.

You can put a set of coil overs together for much less then the GC and some of the other high dollar kits. I have assembled my own for four E21s now and with everything may have $450 to $700 or so in each car. Except for the track car it has gotten a little out of hand there.

What are you looking to achieve with them?

If you just want to lower do what Randy said earlier. A set of H&R Sport Springs and a set of Bilstein Sport shock / strut inserts. Or the equivalent KONI set for lowered springs.

Now if you're trying to go slammed / ricer / dragging the chassis on the ground then yeah the above wont work.

Also since you're down there taking everything apart would be a good idea to check the condition of the rubber bushings / mounts (steering rack / sway bar / control arm / top mounts for strut and shock. and replace those as well.

    Cool

Just Lowering 1 1/2" all around, I got these Bavarian Auto Sport Lowering Springs for $199/free shipping, not sure if these are available, you'd have call and ask. Stock Gabriel Ultra(lifetime warranty) with G Force Technology - Shocks or Dampners, running this combination over 5 years no problems, Gabriel invented Dampners here in USA ,they are not coil overs like Ground Control with Caster-Camber Plates,
As too installing Ground Control your $1500 BMW would be worth $3000 then ,
