At least you didn't use any scrapmetal that would be in the way of a future repair, like this genius engineer did...

Based on the work you're doing so far, with the V-10 swap, I just hope that the finished look of your trunkfloor/diff mount reinforcement doesn't make the ones I've done look bad!

Well I'll bet you that I'm not going to be the last one!! If anyone is on the fence about purchasing this kit or not just let me say that's it's worth every dollar! IMHO

As for the photo's holy crap that's a mess, I'm not surprised to see it fail beside those welds. Did you have to buy some new panels for the repair?

Randy I doubt that I'll make your reinforcement look bad, you've done how many now?

As it turned out, I did have a section from a new trunkfloor assembly that I used to make a repair I don't lose any sleep over. The last car I did, one of Jon Maddux's coupes, was Number 100.

Had to make this piece; I came pretty close but to have done any better, I'd have needed specially machined dies.

Almost like I was never there__and erased all traces of those that came before me

I must apolgize for my long absence, my dad has not been doing well and has spent a lot of time in the hospital. He's now in his 80's and it's understandable for health issues to arise, in his case heart problems complicated by a serious infection. Dad is now back home recovering and I'm very thankful for that.

Hi Lars, long time no see buddy. Very sorry to hear your Dad has been doctoring. Mom was up in the cardiac ward in late April for a few weeks also. I may have been sitting in the next room to you and your Dad and didn't even know it. Will swing by and catch up - pretty sure I will find you in the driveway working on your pet. Cheers, John

Randy that's some amazing work, especially the piece you fabricated by hand! I had to read it over a couple times as it looks like you removed that from a donner floor!!!

Ok but you have to remove all the interior!

    Here's and update on the
    installation of
Randy's subframe kit , I think it's turned out ok so far. Now to finish the seam sealer and paint it so I can cross I can cross it off the list!

Nobody can accuse you of doing this half a**ed--someone clearly taught you to do it right or don't do it at all.

Last night I was at a friend's place - fallguy - another member of this forum and he gave me a hand making the CAI's. He just happens to have a TIG welder and a nice band saw! so this is what he welded up. Now to get these off to be wrinkle black powder coated.

Lots of little things like making brackets, routing steering lines since the steering reservoir is now located on the passenger side. The 2 biggest items are wiring and remove everything from the engine bay so it can be painted to match the body (base coat clear coat) then final assembly.

    Just had a thought...

If we can barely keep 300hp I6's from overheating n our Z3M's, how are you managing the cooling on this 500hp V10? Or maybe not as much of an issue in Canadia?

He has the whole cooling system from the M6 mounted up, its a pretty neat setup like two rads in one with 4 radiator hoses. Im not too sure if the open area on the Z3M is bigger than the M6.

When the T/S was in there I no heat issues in 90 to 100 deg temps.

Well I finally got some time to work on the car! but it's tough with all the smoke from the 566 forest fire burning in the province. Here are some shots of the trunk now painted.
