    front axle - camber adjustable

I always found it annoying that the rear axle is completely adjustable while on the front axle only toe in can be adjusted but no camber.
Ever car I had in for wheel alignment so far has not been exact and some have even been out of specs and nothing could be done.
I know about these adjustable guide bearings but they are illegal in Germany plus immediately visible during our mandatory technical inspection every 2nd year.
    So not really an option.
I decided to make the front axle carrier a "copy" of what the car has in the rear: adjustable wishbones via eccentric bolts. I got the necessary parts laser cut and then it was my turn to do the welding.

    Preparation of the axle carrier

    Laser cut parts

    Ready for welding

All done and waiting to be mounted

If someone is willing to ship the front axle carrier to me I can of course do it. But for folks living in countries not as strict as Germany when it comes to technical mods adjustable guide bearing is most likely a much cheaper solution.
My solution is as "illegal" as the adjustable guide bearing but kind of invisible because it could easily be like that from the factory.

Wow! This looks a lot more effective than the adjustable guide bearing either way, and I'd much rather have this done. You will be hearing from me regarding this and some other mods in a few months, first I need to finish the LHD conversion Great work as always Wokke!

How many degrees of adjustment does your modification allow?

    OP:

Any chance of you making adjustable camber plates? That would be a nice Diy and easily reversed if need be.

    Just asking

I had not heard of this company until recently and they have adjustable camber/caster kits for the E31 that include a street application where the bearing is encased in rubber for everyday driving. I have no idea how much negative camber can be gained using stock springs because of the limited amount of space between spring and inner fender well, maybe 2 deg?

I have heard mixed opinions on K-mac. Apparently their product quality has dropped significantly in the last few years... just search the forums, you will find threads about their camber plates cracking and bent sway bars... Although I have not heard anything bad about them in the E31 community

Don't buy those as they are Junk and will leave you unsafe or stranded, You can Mod or simply mount most E36 camber plates and there are quite a few at half the price.

Don't know yet. Should be the same as on the rear axle because I'm using the same eccentric bolts.

Maybe you could supply the parts as a kit, with some photos showing placement before welding. I would be interested.

No problem but I have to wait until I have another axle carrier for modification.
