    CAT Delete vs straight pipe

First let me start off by saying this is my daily driver. An 05 325i lowered 2 inches, a roof rack, and a 15” sub. No performance mods but something is missing. That beautiful sound bimmers are known for. I don’t like drony cars and don’t wanna go for a Honda sound(don’t get offended). I just want it to sound nice enough to be a daily driver. I’m just looking for suggestions on how to achieve this. It’s a daily driver and just want a nice honed mature sound. Thank you guys in advance! My name is Jose by the way.

Jose: Welcome to the forum. For either of the suggestions above, you will need to reprogram the Drive Motor Electronic (DME) so that it doesn't know you removed the catalytic converter. An easier solution would be to get a performance muffler instead. Any of the forum sponsor sites will have a reputable brand or two. I usually use www.ecstuning.com but there are plenty of others. Reprogramming the engine computer can be dicey business.

    Straight pipe is loud.

You will need a sports backbox to keep it in check.

Plenty of decats on YouTube and also straight through systems. You will be glad of a muffler on the back.
