Does anyone know the part number and the place I can purchase the CSI front bumper insert that completely deletes the front license plate holder.
From memory there are plenty of posts on here about that...if you do a search you may find what you're after.

Are you talking about the middle black slatted piece, which is OEM BMW, or the filler piece that is smooth, which is a Racing Dynamics piece, and not available???

I really don't understand why BMW does this... same story with a lot of E34 parts... leave the exterior trim in production in more than one variant, bumpers will need replacing the most on any car, trim included. So now if you don't run a front plate (I don't, along with many people on this board) and lose/damage your filler plate or slats, all you can do is cover the area with black tape...
someone needs to get hold of an RD filler plate and do a 3D scan so we can reproduce it. I heard that there was someone in China selling copies, but that no one has heard from him in a while.
I see this topic pop up way to much on the forums... and there needs to be a solution

It's all about politics. We need to get rid of old cars and replace them with new ones that has much lower emissions. Governments are pushing manufacturers hard to produce cleaner cars. So why produce parts to old cars when we need to get rid of those?
I'm pretty sure that it's not going to take long when driving with cars like e31 has become so expensive that basically these cars just disappear and the resale value will drop significantly.
One of the reasons that the E31 Chapter of the BMWCCA was formed is to have a voice with the manufacturer. BMWCCA is the ONLY organization that is recognized by BMW AG in Munich. Even though there is a strong following with all the little BMW groups scattered across the country and the rest of the globe for that matter, with only slightly more than 100 members, BMW won't do anything when it comes to reproducing parts. This is one of the pitfalls of owning and operating a limited production (in the grand scheme of things) vehicle.
Try going to GM and see if you can get parts for your 25 year old Oldsmobile or Pontiac, and see what they tell you...

Things might change from late 2018 and on due to release of the new G15-8 series... I’ve seen a big change in the attitudes and embracement of the E31 from BMW’s key people, simply because they want to market and sell the G15; so naturally in order to continue doing so, they might have the classics department begin remaking parts so E31’s can be restored and gain value; hence gaining new buyers of both generations of cars. We saw firsthand at several BMW events this year how they absolutely love the classic 8 and will do anything to make it help sell the new car better.
There’s hope in the horizon. Don’t forget that it was initially BMW classics that hired us to do the E31 film through Petrolicious and BMW USA followed that trend 3 months later.
