    Installing Zionsville cooling system

There wasn’t much instructions to install the cooling system when I received it. Are there any tips or surprises I should prepare for when I install the setup?

Which of their ‘systems’ are you installing?

it's pretty straight forward. the biggest question you have to ask yourself is, "where do you want to mount everything?" I copied TXDarth and mounted everything on the shroud, this makes it super easy to mount and remove.......unhook 2 wires, couple hoses and pull the whole thing out, and vice versa. I also mounted the fan to direct power, it never stays on longer than a minute or so....

Right now I am waiting to get the E38 Super Duty Cooling Kit (99-01 - https://www.zionsvilleautosport.com/...g-kit-1999-03/) from my local powder coating business. I had all the aluminum powder coated in a satin black finish to match the rest of the engine bay. It should look really cool when done. AR424, was Darth the guy that cut the very top sliver of the OEM shroud and kept it on top of the Zionsville set up? You mounted the fan to direct power? Is that what it should be connected to? I remember someone mentioning to me it had to be connected to the fuses or something? I am having a buddy do the work at his shop.

Same thing I did - kept the top part on one of my installs. Careful on placement of the resistor it gets very hot, I can't remember the specific temp reading I got.

Each relay in the kit comes with power wire connector with fuse holder, or at least mine did.

    Hope this helps.

So how do I (or the indy) hook up the electric fan to the fuse without it being on after the car shuts off? My indy said he was unsure how to have the electric fan shut off when I turn the engine off?

my advice: if your indi doesn't know how to find switched power on this car and he has to ask you, get a new indi!

Does anyone have problems with a Check Coolant Level with the Zionsville setup? My expansion tank is full, so no coolant leak.

most likely the sensor. Call Dwight at Zionsville for a new sensor. I went through two that they sent me (3 altogether)- iirc its a float type, and I have read before that there have been problems with them. I finally gave up after 2, and just shorted the connector to get rid of the alarm. I keep the expansion tank only half full to allow for collant expansion.

I got a new sensor from Dwight. Is it easy to replace without removing the Zionsville cooling setup? Dwight mentioned shaking the radiator. E38 sensors are very picky.
