This one caught my eye yesterday. Looks okay aside from the bicycle accident. Kinda expensive, a lot more than I paid for our 540iT, but it is a stick.

couldn't see the posting said it was expired for the green manual in chicago. I was looking at one from a dealer about a year ago that may be this one. If i remember it had a very low serial number and may have been one of the first wagons built. It also had manual climate control. It would up being to much for me to spend at the time. Turns out i got 2 automatics for less than they were asking for this one.
I took a closer look at that green one, Danny was right leaving it with that tan interior, the car was super clean and the green really popped. IM not a fan of light interiors but grew on me the more I looked it over. First time I saw it he was asking $11,000ish, then raised the price to $13,999...that expired so no idea where it ended up or what they would actually take for it considering realistically it's only worth $8000ish + or - and that is to a buyer that has to have it...IM still whining on missing the Imola red 540iT for only $4999, a friggin steal, the car was nice, its all about being in the right place at the right time...if the price gets dropped the green metallic car it would be worth buying...

Nice price! All that thing needs is to be sportified.
Set the controls for the heart of the sun
The green one in Chicago is back up, price dropped but still high priced, color combo has grown on me...like it more now...
2001 BMW 5 Series 525i Wagon RWD - $9,990
A Biarritz Blue 540it with a full M5 conversion sold at an auction in San Diego today for $5500. I was trying to bid on it last Saturday but it broke down and they had to wait until today to auction it. It's way more than I was willing to pay for it, so I'm not upset at all, haha. Cosmetically it's pretty beat with damage on every body panel along with a slipping clutch and generally questionable mechanicals. It also has a salvage title with unknown mileage, pretty interesting. Sadly that auction is not exactly an enthusiast auction, so the car will most likely end up being parted out by some money-hungry scumbag, or cleaned up hastily and resold for a big profit by some shady dealer.
I'm going to keep an eye out on the San Diego/Los Angeles/Bay Area Craigslist sites to see if the car (or parts of it) end up there.

In the rust belt but this looks clean, good color combo, ( just don't see 540iTs in Sienna Red w/blk)...someone here might want to seriously consider this...$4800ish to $5200ish I think is reasonable...if I had the space honestly think id be buying it...

That does look pretty sweet. I loved my Sienna Red 2000 528iT 5spd, but a 540 would be even better. I would have strongly considered this one a few months ago when I bought our 540. The airbag light could get pricey if it is an airbag module and you can't code it yourself. I spent about $600 getting my sorted with used modules, labor, and coding.
I did extensive research on the Japonrot red 540iTs 1999 - 2003 and concluded there is less than 5 of those, IM pretty confident that this one is close to those numbers, even better with the black interior, its really hard for me to pass this one up, someone should jump on it...not the right timing or id buy it, the listing is a new one...this is pretty rare combo, and a 540iT...you may never see another...only problem if hidden rust...but think the price and color combo worth the asking price...interior looks like it may have been coated with Armor all, but could live with that, just buff it out...
