Don’t you people understand that the higher the prices of our cars go, the higher the prices of the stupid parts will become??? Who the F cares how much these cars prices go up? I just want to be able to keep driving these cars and maintaining them with affordable parts.

2003 540 Touring on BaT. Guides have been done. Looks to be a nice car with a little effort would be a beauty.

2000 supercharged 540 touring on BaT. This thing looks so familiar, but there's no mention of it hitting BaT before this. The current owner has supposedly only put 100 miles on it...how???

20k for a 540 touring, glad I bought mine when I did

I know the market is changing but $20k for that is ridiculous. It's clean, but 120k miles, no sport package, only one key, no notable options...no way.
Cargurus price is on crack. Dallas car could make someone happy
I agree and I don't mean to offend anyone but one of the reasons for stupid high prices are stupid people overpaying for cars.
There is a difference in paying high $ for a car that is worth it in the sense of being rare, low miles etc...but when I see what are people paying for certain cars on BAT, it's pure lunacy.
As far as cargurus touring, when I see a delaer who copy and paste useless generic description of a car, looking at ad is as close as I'd ever get to buying that car.

You should see the prices people pay on cars and bids, a bunch of yuppies paying more than a car is worth. A great example is the Mark 4 Toyota Supra that a lot of millennials are overpaying for just so they can feel like they are Paul Walkers. The dealer who is selling that 540i estate for $20,000 must have smoked some hard drugs.
You can always come down in price -
Another one live on BaT as of today. Looks like a nice driver example.

That car had 161,000 miles on iit, with fake garbage Lexani rims that look like ACS rims. Do you people that are not familiar with Lexani rims, realize how heavy those stupid rims are? They are absurdly heavy. These BAT people are batshiet stupid crazy. Times are getting dumb, and dumber.
Do I care that the prices on our beloved cars are going up? Yes I do, but not for what you guys are drooling about. I liked the idea that our cars were cheap, parts were cheap, parts, and parts cars were abundant, when BMW placed them on the classic list, I already saw the writing on the wall, prices on parts started shooting up, now, dimwits are starting to pay way too much for them, raising the awareness of these cars, people are snatching them all up, parts cars are getting harder, and harder to find, be careful of what you wish for. I don’t give a rats ass that our cars value has gone up, more and more people that buy these cars are gonna rathole them in their garages, they won’t be driving them and enjoying them, you won’t be seeing them everywhere anymore, screw all that. I have been dedicated to keeping my cars in decent shape, not as nice and clean as some of you out there, you all know who you are. I don’t do it for the world, I do it for myself. I enjoy these cars, I drive them daily for this reason. I love these cars today, just as much as I have since the day they came out. Actually love them even more now! All these stupid auctions ballooning the prices on these cars, and many others is ruining the car hobby in this respect, people are afraid to drive them, make them do what they were designed to do. Get driven, be enjoyed.

Shoot, my green 2000 wagon with clean sport seats, an Mtech2 steering wheel, 9”square style 66 rims, brand new Conti DWS tires, sport suspension, all new cooling system, all subframe bushings done, front and rear, windows all working, everything working, no oil leaks, not even power steering, 85,000 miles on the clock outta sell pretty good on that stupid site….. SORRY, NOT FOR SALE!!!

Auction sites in general are full of yuppies with money to burn. I hate the sellers who try to use the auction prices as leverage for their absurd prices, ahem Supras and Skylines with crap loads of rust. That is way too much for that type of car. I can get a 530i estate from Europe with no rust for a lot less than that, and ship it to the US and it will total out for less than $15,500. The buyer appears to be buying up all E39s. I have to check that youtube guy out.
