There was a white 528iT that sold on Bat, November 23, 2020, 55,000 miles, $31,000.
Set the controls for the heart of the sun
Cheap money, loose brains, high prices, followed by more like cars being posted, sounds like a bubble to me. Got a low mileage wagon? Looks like a good time to sell. Limited supply always means higher prices. As these cars are well passed the 20 year mark, the stored and unused ones will float up as the original owners pass on to their next stage of life or the ground. This trend happens with all cars. The low mileage M5s going for $100k will pull up the lesser models just as it does in the domestic muscle car world. Old wagons with big blocks get lots of added value for those who can't afford the Hemi model that is floating well past $250k.
want to buy a car that you were driven around in as a child? How about the model your doctor neighbors had? Now is your chance. Stock market provided a 11-23% gains on investments so portfolios are full of $. Home loans are cheap, people are not going on big ticket vacations so there is lots of money waiting to be tapped. People in the service or hospitality trades are underwater selling toys or unneeded assets to gain liquidity to stay afloat. Opportunities abound in all markets especially in used cars as the prices are up over 28% as people are fleeing cities and moving to the burbs seeking space. Housing is up as well. Lots of pent up demand.

Now that is one clean example! My guess on bidding ending in the $35K-$45 range. Higher if the spotters don't abuse the seller's car. Then there was that Alpina E39 wagon with 42K in School Bus Yellow out of Denmark last year that sat on the sellers lot for a year. A better looking color I would have purchased it.

“She’s the last of the V8’s, she sucks nitro...phase 4 heads, twin overhead cams...600 horsepower through the wheels, she’s meanness put to music...”
Furthermore, a low mile '99 540iT was posted in the classifieds today, asking $35k. Strange to see prices surge so quickly, would have expected to see more of a ramp-up. That BAT wagon is already at $17k after 1 day.
Fascinating. What impacts will this have on the high-mile, fully-depreciated piles that I like to buy? Stay tuned and find out next, I guess.

BaT fever is a real thing, I feel like there is a pretty decent premium on the cars that sell there as opposed to Craigslist and other sites just because it is BaT. I wonder how large of a European audience BaT has, not many sellers from over there so I am guessing not that large of an audience, but I feel like that Alpina would've done pretty well on BaT

Man, Dakar Yellow, you guys actually like that banana vomit splooge color??? PUKE!!! It was unbearable on the M3’s that it came on, that yellow wagon belongs in the bottom of the ocean, I don’t give a donkey’s crap that it was rusty tromboned by Alpina... sorry, I know, my opinion, but I will stand by it, and piss on that car all day long, maybe my piss will give it a nicer shade of yellow, the only thing it’s good for is to run that idiot Chris Bangle’s sorry butt over with.

Back in April, that piss yellow 850ci sold for $149,000, it also sold on Bat previously for $100,000..... some idiots out there with more money that brains. The reason that color is so rare is because it is so ugly. Then these money bagged morons show up and buy them.... The world sure is getting weirder and weirder.

I’m gonna get that sucka.... And it’s not what you’ve obviously been dreaming about kid... That piece of sheeit single handedly ruined what I’ve loved about BMW since I was a kid. His finagling stupid ass trying to make a new image of BMW’s image to the masses has ruined the marque for what it was. Now, it’s just like a Hyundai, it ended with the E39, right when the idiots handed him the keys....

I think CB is now designing toasters and other consumer household products.

Not a wagon, but a great example of the BaT tax:

28k miles sold for $42.5k
Would be fun to see what this will go for if he puts it on BaT
