    Good Ole Toledo

    Hey guys,
Been a BMW fanboy for awhile, i've had three 740's and a E28 528e. This is my 1st E39 and my 1st touring and in yet another 1st my 1st blue.

It's a '03 (11-24-02) 525i with a black interior, nothing really special aside from it has heated seats.

she does have a few issues, like it doesn't wanna idle just dies, rear passenger door won't open at all, driver's rear out side handle won't work, clear is done, hatch struts are garbage and the common hatch wiring is possibly toast seeing as the glass wont open.

    Update!
Fixed the weird idle with a new set of intake boots, and vacuum lines, new kidneys, repaired the rear doors, replacement exterior door frame and just a stuck actuator lol, and fixed the hatch electrics.

got some mods done as well, rear door shades, euro lower dash trims, e38 sport contours, and a sport wheel, alcantara chromeline knob and boot, shadowline kit, and power folding mirrors.

Awesome! Do you have a DIY you are using for the power folding mirrors? Also, where did you get them? I have been browsing for a set.

It's a pretty simple swap, now while I haven't installed them yet, since the bases were corroded real bad and needed paint, but from what i've seen they are exactly like the E38 ones, drivers module, passenger side, and then the mirrors. only thing that should require any extra wiring is if you are adding in the electrochromatic glass.

Thanks! I'll look up the E38 tutorial. Where did you get the mirrors from? I see them sporadically on eBay but my research also indicates that LHD and RHD mirror are not interchangeable. Any advice is appreciated!

Awesome thread BTW, I'm enjoying the touring love!

I actually found the set on ebay, I it was the only one listed for the non m5 style ones. But I'd get on Facebook there are several e39 groups that do part-outs.

And yea the LHD and RHD are angled different so be weary of that.

I have a set of BCRacing coil overs for one of my wagons, let me know which springs from Swift you got, and how the ride turned out. Info for the right spring rates on these wagons are all over the place.

Hey thanks! Those spring rates are actually what I was thinking I needed. Let me know how the ride goes, I was planning on getting them ready for this spring on the install.

No problem, it's been listed here a time or two. i got lucky and a guy down the street from me had them. but i think the spec is for a 540 touring so it might be a bit different for a 525 like mine, but it's pretty nice so far need to get the old coils out of the rear to finish.
