No difference at all. All Z3s and all M Coupes/M Roadsters have exactly the same hood.

I almost had to post this same thread this morning. On the way home from work yesterday I was minding my own business while sitting in a stop and go traffic light to enter the highway. To the right of the traffic light lanes, there is an HOV entrance lane. I got my green (I was in the right lane of two lanes) and proceeded. This @$$hole in a new 340 comes speeding up the HOV lane (no light to wait for) and proceeds to pass me on the right. He went as far as to use the ENTIRE right shoulder to make his pass. I flashed my lights at him and he just stands on the brakes. I prepared for impact, but the Coupe came to a stop a couple inches from his bumper. He tried to very aggressively brake check me a few more times, but I just jotted down his license plate (at one point he completely stopped on the highway in front of me) and reported him.

I'm really glad I didn't need a new hood, or worse. Stay safe out there!

Glad all is OK, Nathan. One of the perks of getting older - at one time, I’d want to “play.” Now more likely to pull over and drink a milk shake and let the jerk get well into the next county.

It's instances like this that may make me want to buy a dashcam.

My dashcam is on the shelf with all my other to-be-installed parts.

I'm suspecting that the OP is referring to the canvas hood, but same universality applies

All Z3 models have the same soft top. Face lift models (2000 on-wards) have a head liner. Some people fit the head liner to pre-face lift models. It does require a few extra parts.

I happened to be pricing soft tops today. If your problem is a stuff rear window and you have a original soft top with zipped in rear window, a new zip in rear window is around NZ$150.

A new soft top off Ebay is around NZ$600 delivered. If you are OK doing your own work, you can fit it your self.

If you feel the need, send me a PM and we can exchange phone numbers. I'm 2 hours South of you in Timaru.

    Regards

There is only one thing more pleasurable than working on a Z3, that's driving it top down on a fine day.
