Oh man, so sorry to see this. Hope you are ok though. Any chance of you repairing?

I’ll wait to hear back, but the fender, bumper, door, mirror, A-pillar, and hood are all damaged. Rear door is scratched and the suspension looks messed up too. I’m guessing there’s more than 3-4K worth of work there. It’s tough to get the car back in Illinois.

Sorry man. That sucks. Is the a-pillar cosmetic or bent? Is the strut tower bent in? By the look of the camber on the wheel maybe, unless one of the lower arms broke and is letting the bottom part of the wheel out.

The A pillar may be salvageable, but I noticed the trim around the windshield was separated so I assumed there was at least a bit of deformity. I didn’t look in the wheel well because I figured there was no way the work would be less than $4,000 considering the shop quoted me $1,200 to paint less than what would need painting now. Add in a fender, door, and hood, and I’m sure we are already in the $3,000 range with paint.
Now I’m just worried that they are going to try and tell me it’s worth $3,000 or something like that. They have to pay retail plus costs to replace, not private party value or trade in value.

How did this happen?
Remove all the stuff you can swap over to your new one. Dont let insurance give you a bogus quote. You can find plenty for sale in your same condition to prove market value...

Glad you're OK but sorry about your ride 😞
Unfortunately, if the A pillar is deformed, it will be totaled by insurance.
Too bad, hope you find another one. I'd take those wheels off now and whatever else you can save.

Same thing happened to me. So you guys think it won't be a good idea to repair it? I only had liability insurance so I would have to pay out of pocket.
Gotta get a new one first. Really want the Impala Brown one in Cali. I’m waiting to hear back from the niece who got the car Monday. He thinks it may be too much car for her. Let’s hope. Have you seen anything here in Chicago? The few with low miles and well maintained seem to want 7-8k which is absurd.

I got a sweet green one with pearlbeige that needs a little TLC, a set of Mpars and a new home
If you do decide to part, I would be interested in the some parts to help you recoup
I have a set of doors that are color matched.
I was able to pick up a replacement with 94K for about the same amount the insurance company gave me for mine. So I went with it figuring I could save some parts for the new one. Those doors would have been mine if I decided to keep it. Thanks!

EVERYTHING works, and I mean everything. Good headliner. Glovebox handle and front cup holder are in fine working order as are the rear speakers (SO HAPPY! I can listen to music again!)
I don’t think the chrome wheels will stick. I don’t want them to get pitted. Maybe I’ll save them for the summer.
A couple of things I do want to address. I have a better understanding of what it means to be an enthusiast now. Little things like unmatched tires, a rumbling underneath that I HAVE to fix (it’s driving me crazy, but he didn’t even notice), and the suspension is a bit soft for my tastes. People think I’m crazy, but I seem to notice every little wobble or pull.
There are some pixels starting to go so I will open up the speedo and get that taken care of. The wood on he center console is full so that will probably get swapped over.
It needs a good detail as well. He had an OEM set of Mpars that he was going to send in the car but he couldn’t find his storage keys. That’s because they were in the car! I had to mail them back to him. I’m going to hit him up for the wheels one more time. I also had the only set of keys in the world to his 64 Stingray which were on the same keychain so I hope he’s willing to send them.
