Nav/display screen won't turn off

wondering if anyone else has run into this. turn the car off, shut the door. car goes to sleep properly. except the nav screen stays on. if the trunk is open, the LED on the nav computer stays on. (yes, this is after ive waited 16 mins and the car goes to sleep)

ive replaced both the nav computer and the GMIII. still the same behavior. obviously this kills the battery in pretty short order.

if i unplug the nav computer, everythign is as normal as can be expected without it - no screen display, radio stays on for ~2 mins then shuts off.

what am i not thinking of? other suggestions?

note this is the stock 4:3 screen - all stock.

anyone? i also disconnected the amp - no change. radio didnt work obviously, but nav computer and screen didnt ever shut off.

As all other functions are working, the display may be at fault. I have a 4.3 (replaced it with a 16.9) that works (has a red vertical line in the display) that you are welcome to
as a trial display to verify.

appreciate the idea & offer. i'll try disconnecting the display and see if the computer can turn itself off that way.
