FYI, BMW in Bavaria,,50 years BMW in Lower Bavaria. Where spare parts for BMW cars is managed, also.
The BMW Group Dingolfing plant is the BMW Group's largest vehicle plant in Europe. Around 340,000 BMW automobiles run here every year from the assembly lines. A wide range of vehicles is built - currently models of the 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 series. Components such as BMW electric vehicles or bodies for Rolls-Royce motor cars are also manufactured here. In addition, Dingolfing forms the heart of the worldwide spare parts logistics of the BMW Group. In total, the site has over 17,500 employees and over 800 apprentices.

Pretty impressive...love to see it and take a tour.
We visited the Munich factory last year. It was the last phase of an all day BMW visit (my wife was thrilled) that included BMW Welt and the Museum. The factory tour was a huge letdown. It was just that - a tour of the factory. No workers were in sight. Apparently everyone was in a town-hall meeting or something, but nobody was working except the robots. The Museum and Welt however, were awesome. The Greer, SC tour, on the other hand, was awesome and exceeded all our expectations.
The SC BMW experience was from US Senator Strom Thurmon, BMW had massive problems with the electronic distrbutors, his call to BMW and the legal leg work he did, and then BMW putting up the money under Strom Thurmon guard, not political work which is useless, corrected the problem and got plant working with good quality parts and good quality Distributors on the market again. Forgot to mention good quality work environment for Americans.
