Lightbulb Wiring headlights to turn on when the car is on

Came across this post on another forum (google “photobucket hotlink fix” to see images) and was wondering what’d be the best way to do something similar on our cars (have headlights turn on when the cars on and off when it’s off). Doing so would save us from worrying if we left our lights on or returning to a dead battery. Has anyone done anything similar to their car? I imagine we could do it by splicing a wire from the fuel pump relay to the headlights or is it not that simple?

There are DRL relay kits readily available and easy to install, as they’re a requirement in Canada.

Thanks. Never heard of these until now. Is there any you’d recommend or should any one work on our cars?

Thanks. I’ll look into either this or just wiring a buzzer for when I left the lights on.
