Yeah, I came to a similarly depressing realization when I took my car to Rally-x Nats last week. It's just really hard to compete with cars that weigh around 2,100 when I weigh closer to 3,100. I can and do win locally, but I won't be able to do so nationally. But if that's what you're after, then you're making a smart, if difficult, decision. Good luck on your future endeavors!

Good luck with your decision. Selling my M3 is a decision I've struggled with for years. For me, it always comes down to finding a car that isn't crazy money, competitive, and something that I can physically fit in with a helmet. The closest I realistically figured was some version of a 2 Series. I know some guys are doing 128i builds, but next time around I defintely want more power.

Oh I have dreams of a K24 swapped NB Miata with ~220 whp on Fox coilovers, but that dream will have to wait.

That sounds nasty. Could always try to make it happen. Any Idea what that build would cost?

It will probably happen eventually, but there are many things on my list before I could begin to seriously consider going down that road. Depending on which version of the K24 you use, and then which version of the swap kit, cost is somewhere between $6-10k.

Best of both worlds? Turbo K20 Swapped E36? Should come in at about 2,250 when I'm done.

Sorry guys. I'm struggling as it is to find time to finish the build, let alone create and update a build thread.

The Uphill Battle is over. It's posted for sale. I'm going to miss this car but I had to decide what was the priority... Just have fun... or win. This car is crazy fun... It just cant win. If I had the funds Id throw a bar or cage in it and make it a track car, its really easy to drive fast.
