    WTB: e36 hardtop retrofit kit

Am getting rid of my hardtop, local buyer interested but needs the kit for his vert. Finding an affordable option would go a long way for both of us. TIA and happy holidays

I did, but the car was sold (without hardtop) several months ago and kit went with it -- only because the guy had expressed interest in buying the top later on. He ended up finding another one for cheap (in the local area even!) and buying it before I even had a chance to match the price. Seems most people looking for a hardtop also need the mounting hardware

Gotcha. Im in the same boat. I bought a hardtop, but the seller traded the car in months ago. I am also in the search for affordable mounts. I really dont want to have to spend $300 on new ones (which is absurd for two little brackets)

Man, I got sooooo lucky that guy I bought my top from for $500 was willing to let me come back two weeks later and strip the hardware out.......

I agree, it is absolutely nuts. I'm sure the pricing is mostly due to the low volume of parts and no longer being produced. When I bought them the first go around I was lucky enough to find the hardware (here, I think) for about $100.

You got lucky finding a top for $500. Easily worth twice that in decent shape.
