Well sometimes you have to move on, and after 2 accidents, it is time. Get all you can from the Black one, and sell, or install it into the new one.

Everything is looking good so far, and I am interested in the finished product.

Cars die. That's why I stopped naming my cars when I was ~your age. Ever since, they are mechanical devices, blessed with names like "Bimmer", or "Subie".

However, you have an unique opportunity here, Mohammed. Please let your cars be your teachers. You've had enough problems, caused by youthful exuberance. It's time to use your new car.....for very many years. Give it your greatest respect, and treat it well. Let me give you an example:

I bought my M5 from my boss, who purchased it to sell. Before I bought it, the shop foreman drove it....and he told me gleefully that he'd done 3 huge burnouts, leaving stripes on the road, hundreds of feet long. I've owned the car for two years, driven it at full tilt on a race track for many days....and I have NEVER wasted the expensive rubber and drivetrain parts, doing a stupid damned burnout.

I'll drive a car harder than anyone you know, but I will not abuse it intentionally.

Savor it, don't break it. You're spending a ton of money....you need to enjoy the results for a long time. Just remember that YOU are the crucial element that makes your car go fast. You need to get on a real race track, and learn the art from a pro.

If you add a hundred horsepower, you might make it around Brands Hatch club circuit one second faster. If you learn the art, you'll be TEN seconds faster. Your drift buddies will $#!+ their pants......and you'll be the hero. Just do it. Oversteer is easy, learn the art of the edge of traction at both ends of the car, simultaneously.

That's my next step Chris! I know cars are just cars but I'm finding it so hard to get over the black one I mean when I bought the blue one, I bought it because I had limited time to replace the black one otherwise insurance was gonna cancel my policy without refund. So I feel like I miss it so much and I'm so attached to it which is why I've put everything I can from it into the blue car to remind me of it lol. I think I had enough of burnouts, clutch kicks and drifting for now.. I've stuck with the open diff temporarily for that reason to avoid the temptation to slide the car around sideways! I'm going to treat this car properly, be ontop of my maintenance and also when I've made some money to recover. I will take it up to a proper race track and invest some money in modding my self to be a better driver. As you have told me before along with Darin and Shadowpuck, modding a car will make that car fast.. modding the driver will make any car you drive fast!

i think I'm safe to say I've buckled up my driving and won't be doing 160mph down the motorways or drifting pointlessly.
what do you think of the build so far from the pictures? Also what grade oils do you recommend and how often should I change them? Usually I'd do an oil change every 6k miles but since this is a new engine I want to be ontop of my
    maintenance.

    Thanks

    - - - Updated - - -

I also bought a magnetic sump bolt to attract all the metal filings. I'm quite nervous about driving the car / running it in. I have a 140 mile journey back home. Some people said do a oil change after 30-40 miles some say 500 and others say 1000. I'm kind of confused. Also Darin told me to not keep the car at the same speed/rpm for more then 10 minutes for the piston rings to bed in properly but that's gonna be difficult since I'm cruising the motorway for a good 110 miles.. any advise?

Use a conventional oil of top quality for the first thousand miles, then use the very best synthetics thereafter. First oil change by ~1000 miles. I am not going to get into the oil argument. Good oil is good oil.

Just vary your speed, no cruise control, alternate between the maximum and minimum speed lanes of traffic.

Oil pump nut spot welded as they are notorious for becoming undone, sump bolted up, new timing kit, new headgasket, head bolted on.

I prefer colors that easily reveal leaks, so lighter than black, but that's just me.

I would keep an eye on that thermostat housing if it isn't from a M-50. ECS tuning used to sell them and had to quit as a lot of them leaked.

Sorry Friends, excitement got the best of me. Car was ready as of Monday. At 4am UK time I drove it home.
engine started up really loud and rattly for 5-10 mins then it quieten down, was running for 30 mins ish to bleed everything, drove it home with no issues, kept the speed and revs up and down all the time without exceeding 5k for the 1st 100 miles and then after 150 miles I did a few 6ks and at 500 miles i did a few 6.5k's as Chris and Darin's Recommendations. now I'm on 900 and gonna probably service it with oil change and filter at 1k. Car didn't feel as powerful but slowly I think it's becoming slightly faster but it still isn't what I hoped for maybe because i haven't reached 7.2k like before lol. Car overheated the second day at 140 miles since Rebuild on Tuesday, bled the cooling system and filled it up and as of today Friday no overheats ever since Tuesday. Going to pick up a set of S50b32 Euro headers and centre section to bolt up to my m3 backbox. The headers have been proffesionally machined to fit a m52 by having the lamba bongs shortened by 15/20mm and retreaded to accomedate the m52 lambas rather then the m3 ones. Also has some bits shaved off to avoid it touching the gearbox bellhousing.

after fitting the m3 full system, I'm going to decat it and take it rolling road eventually.
Thinking of bigbore throttle body or even maybe an adapter and M3 ITB's, full m3 self bleeding cooling system, underdrive pullies, viscous fan delete with electric air con fan with a 318i temp sensor, rc engineering injector rebuild, 3.5" intake system with Porsche HFM maf or 3.5" from euro system or 540, and UUC Ltw flywheel and e34 M5 clutch.

    - - - Updated - - -

Any other upgrades recommended besides taking my self to the track and upgrading my driving skills ? Which is soon to undergo in a month or two before I set off to meet Darin and go on the Nurburgring Ring? Hahaha
