I've found a Titansilber door for my 99 740, besides disconnecting the battery what else should be done? if anything. I'll be switching over my non folding mirror ( better shape) as well as speaker box to this new door. I've taken off anther door before so I know where to disconnect the door harness.
I got my replacement door today. Had a hard time getting the check strap roll pin out? Is it removed from the bottom using a drift punch or from the top? On the donor car I bent the anchor piece on the body to get it to clear. Don't want to do that on my car.
You probably figured this out by now but you need to squeeze the tabs on the underside of the pin and push it up to remove.
When I changed the door on my old E46 I needed to swap the door harness and the shadowline trim. New door was from an older model without side airbags. Not sure if you ran into anything like that or not.

Thanks, yes I learned about collapsing the pin retainer. This door is from a 2000 so it has the same door air bag.
It's an amazingly easy job I have to say.
Did y'all need two people to do this? I'm considering replacing the door on my DD from one on my parts car.

Yes I chose to because of the door's weight and awkwardness.
