    Gas Leak Smell

I have a strong gas smell by the passenger back wheel well. It's a 2007 M Coupe. Does anybody know what it can be? Either a seal or fuel line? Here is a video. https://www.dropbox.com/s/skkre98vq4...75920.mp4?dl=0

Check for a cracked fuel charcoal canister, or one of the associated hoses.
Hopefully not a leaking fuel tank, if so>take precautions<try not to combust.

I've never seen a modern BMW fuel tank "leak" - they are plastic, impact-proof, heat-resistant monuments of indestructibility.

Likely your fuel pump gasket has failed and you are smelling vapors escaping the top of the fuel tank or something in your emissions system has failed. Based on location, I would assume emissions system since thats where all that stuff is located.

I don't know why a video would help us diagnose a smell...

The fuel filter and pump are kind of in between the drive shaft and tucked in the underside so I can't see that being involved?
The drivers side has the fuel feed and return(savage) lines:

    from passenger side:

So looking at all the diagrams and finding no definitive pics I can only see where it could be leaking from one of two places on the passenger side.
Maybe the o-ring or rubber seal for the what appears to be some sort of vent line that goes up with the filler tube?
I would just pull the wheel and inner fender cover and see what's wet under there.

Is the rubber on your gas cap failing? My car does that too but it's the gas cap.

Fuel Ventilation System - Charcoal Canister

Located just rear of the passenger wheelwell:http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=16_0539I replaced one this summer, due to cracks.Besides the fuel smell, have you scanned for emissions codes? And do you have codes displayed that confirm a fuel ventilation system leak?
