    '01 Sport Climate Control Module

    I'm still chasing a face vent temperature difference problem and of course creating more problems along the way. I managed to break the male black bus connector on the module, I've got the connectors on order (they'll ship after Christmas) the bus wire consist of two black and one white with the white one on the outside, the question is when I receive the connector is which way to orient the wire into the connector, the connector is polarized. The next question does anyone have a temperature/resistance chart for the 5 temperature probes? Lastly does anyone know which connector (blue or white) and the pin position for the wires that come from the face vents to the module. Thanks

    Anyone, have a idea on how to orient the buss wire on the connector when I receive it. Thanks

    I can't specifically answer your questions...but here's a link to the new BMW TIS website. If you type in the last 7 digits of your VIN (or select accordingly...but your VIN will pull up specific info for your vehicle)...then type "IHKA" into the search box...this should quickly pull up wiring links for the IHKA. When you see the diagrams...their are small links (usually in blue) that you can click on and it will drill down to more specifics & in your case...the PIN-OUT info you seek:

    Qsilver7, under the pin assignments for connector #614 (three pin), pin #1 is a type A (control voltage), pin #2 is a type M (ground, actuator motors)and pin#3 is a type E/A (MI-bus). What does TYPE mean? My biggest problem is how to land the three conductor wire into the connector, either pin 1 or 3 is the white wire. Also the TIS indicates that the climate control module has 6 connectors mine has 5, 1 26pin, 1 18 pin and 3 3pin (black and white for the bus and the power/ground /hi-pressure sw.) Thanks

    E = Input (German = Eingang)
    A = Output (German = Ausgabe)
    M = Ground (German = Masse)

    The 6th connector is for park heating (not available in US).
    WDS shows pin 1 as the side with the notch on the plug.

    Thanks, care to venture a guess on which one (A or E/A) the white wire is.

    The keyed end of the plug is pin 1 as I posted above. I don't understand your situation from your description in the OP, so I don't know what is preventing you from using this as a reference. Even if one M-bus plug was somehow totally gone, there are two of them.

    From the TIS site when you type "X614" in the search box:

    The wire coming from the right-side stepper motors has three conductors 2 blacks and 1 white with the white wire on the outside. The three conductor wire can be set into the new 3 pin (x614)connector two ways, the white wire can be installed either on pin #1 or on pin #3. In other words is the white wire control voltage or MI-bus? I've got a 50/50 shot and I'd prefer not to send control voltage into the bus of the right-side stepper motors.

    The illustration of the connector is NOTCHED on the side where pin #1 is located. Then when I lookup more info on the TIS site...it appears that the "white" wire is on the right (see pic below)...from that info...I'd look at how the connector plugs in...if the notch is on the right (as it plugs in)...then that's pin #1...if the notch is on the left (as it plugs in) then that's pin #3

    So, from the illustration of the connector with it pin #s indentified...and the pic of the connector plugged in and the white wire visible...it seems like one should be able to deduce which pin location the white wire goes.

    Thanks, on the left side bus connector x613( natural) has the "white wire" on pin #1, so I guess when the connector arrives I'll place the "white wire' on pin # 1 in connector x614. Thanks again

    Doesn't the black wire have a notch on the plug? If so, that's pin 1 and should go to the notch on the connector. It's keyed so you can't reverse it. So when you install the connector, install it with the keyed end to pin 1 as shown in WDS as Q posted in #10.

    When the connector (x614 black) broke it went to pieces, all that I have is the flat three conductor wire 2 blacks and 1 black with a white stripe, I awaiting the new connector. The wire can be installed two ways, the black with the white stripe can be on pin 1 or 3. I've decided to put the black with the white stripe on pin #1 because that's how the other bus connector (#613 natural) is. Thanks for all of the help

    Now I get it. I may have a picture of the IHKA when I installed my nav. Let me see if I can find it for you.
