Is there any way to reprogram the power windows so that they only move when your finger is pressing down on the button. I want to get away from the automatic up and down feature. I haven't found anything in the manual or in any forums.
Other members would need to confirm this, but I do not believe that you're able to reprogram this due to the "pinch protection" feature. I do not believe you can disable this.

Thanks - I was afraid of that but thought that I would ask.
I think(?) the switch has 2 contacts for the up position. One contact is made when you push the switch 1/2 way and the other contact is for the auto up when you push the switch all the way. I'd have to take apart my spare module to confirm. If I'm correct you could cut the PC trace for the auto up. I'm guessing the pass side switch would be the same.
Don't know about the rear seat switches, never rode in the back.
Thanks - that may help. I'll give it a try.
You might be able to code this, can't check as I don't have my proper computer handy.
Not a 'Touring' question though, better posed in either main E39 forum or diagnostics forum where you'd be more likely to find an answer.
