A while back, I posted on here my issue with heat in the cabin. I was getting heat on the drivers side only and cold air on both the front and rear passage vents and no heat when the car is not moving.
I was advised to replace the heater control valve which I just did today but the car still has the same issue.
Where do I look next to solve this?
Hello and welcome to the forum! Does the car perform normally otherwise? Have you checked the thermostat? It could be faulty.

I suppose the car performs okay as I have not had issues with overheating. Is there a way to diagnose thermostat or do I just replace it?
I am having the same issue in my 02 530i, it blows warm out the defrost vents in the dash and out the foot vents but not from the dash vents.
As you have a E39 the center dash vents have a temp wheel in the between the vent openings. If it is rotated to blue you get cold air if you rotate it to red you get hot air.
Also of note is that you posted in general 5 series section. It would be better if you posted in the 1997-2003 E39 section.
