    what do you have to do to reset the computer when you replace the battery?

    Good news!!! No need to reset the computer in an E85/86 Z4. All you need to do is reset the auto windows and clock(if you use a tender while swapping you can avoid this as well.)

    Uh, no. A genuine Deltran Battery Tender (also rebranded as a BMW charger) will detect an open circuit when you disconnect the old battery and will shut off. Ask me how I know this .

    On the other hand, a pair of jumper cables connected to a second battery using the underhood connectors should work just fine.
