Hi all,
Need a bit of guidance please? I’ve owned a few of these cars in the past but I just don’t recall on something right now/need clarification??
Have a 2007 E60. Car does NOT have Premium Sound Pkg (i.e. no 6-disc changer.)
I would like an Ipod to work/be playable. No ipod cord or visible mount, obviously (in glovebox for instance.) It does have the little black BMW flashlight in glovebox. Isn’t that area approx where the Ipod jack is/or would be??
The strange thing is: I KNOW that there is an Aux module, and once installed the dealer needs to code the car to recognize it, and have the Aux menu “enabled/selectable” (in the Entertainment screen, that is.)
But, on this car, the Aux menu ALREADY IS selectable! It’s not greyed out. You can enter the menu just fine, no problem. However, Sat for instance, is greyed out and Non-selectable (no Sat radio option on this car.)
Soooo, the big question:
Do I just need an Ipod/Aux cable to make this work? Where would I plug the other end (in the car), perhaps behind a cover/flap in the glovebox or something????
Thanks a ton, in advance!!!!
Look for the aux. jack at the back of the center console, where the passengers would plug in a car adapter to power their phone.

Jose,
You rock! That’s exactly where it was!
Nicely done, and thanks!
That really is a kooky place for it. I still need to update our 530xi by plugging in the harness connector and flashing the software. I might take it into the dealer to get the software updated, just to be absolutely sure the newest version is in there.
