Going to replace my 15 year old cloth top, as the window is coming out and some stitches are rotting.
Questions:
1. The sales sites say to replace the tensioner straps. Rather expensive. I don't have a problem with the current straps that I know of. My current top seats properly, and is tight. Is it worth the extra $200? and what do they really do?
2. The metal boot lid catches hit on the hinges when opening and closing, and have to be hit or pulled hard to raise or lower. Is there an actual adjustment for that, or is it bending something to fix?
No need to tell me to go to a profesional installer, as there are none in the country. Convertibles are few and far between.
This is the current top, a few years ago after I re-dyed it and cleaned up the window.
