I just recently purchased a Black 2012 BMW 328i. I've read where the USB port is only compatible with the iPhone (okay). I have an Galaxy Note 4, and I want to play my music or listen to Audible via my car speakers. I purchased an auxiliary cord, plugged it into my Aux-In in my car and my phone, and.....................nothing! That poses a couple of questions for this forum:
1) Is the Aux-In port also only for iphones? If this is true, that totally sucks. But that would defeat the purpose of having a USB compatible with iPhones. Why would you need an aux cord if you could just use your USB?
2) Or is there a special kind of auxiliary cord I need to purchase in order for it to work in my car?
Thanks in advance.

Check your owners manual.
The owner's manual doesn't specify. It just states Aux cord.
Borrow a friend’s idevice to see if it works. While I skipped a generation of bimmers (E46 to F22), I don’t think BMW would design the interface for just idevices. I mean, USB does mean “universal serial bus”!
