So I was taking apart my 2nd m52 engine tonight and I noticed this little plastic piece sitting on top of the cam chain tensioner. If I wouldn’t have seen it I would have pulled the tensioner and it would have fallen into the bottom of the engine. Can someone tell me what it does or where is goes? I didn’t see it on the first m52 I pulled apart a few weeks ago.
Thanks ahead of time!!

Not something you should find in there. Was it balanced on top? I'm assuming your talking about the tensioner between the cams.?.
Wow, I've had the entirely of an M52 head appart and I don't recognize this part.
Good luck!
Thank you!

Yes it was sitting right on top of the tensioner. I have come to the conclusion that maybe someone had this motor apart before me and dropped it in there. I cant find a place where it would actually go.
That was a landmine someone left in there for you.
