Ok this isn't your typical power steering issue.
I took the car in and they worked on it and came back saying this.
I need a new steering column. Now not to be one that gives up easily I decided to do some poking around.
The person on the phone stated that power is going into it, but not coming back out. This leads me to believe that the servo motor/eps ecu is bad.
I'm going to do some more questioning when I get there and see what can be turned up with asking the people there.
So I was thinking maybe I could just replace the servo motor and it'll work.
BACKSTORY:
Power Steering only works when the car has been sitting in the sun all day long. Like the interior is hot and nasty and you gotta roll the windows down to get the hot air out. But if it's not hot and nothing is warm in the car, the power steering will not turn on and a light will illuminate on the dashboard.
Also got told that I'm going to need a new steering column and thermostat too so I got that going as well.
And no I'm not going to have the stealership fix the car when I can probably do it myself.

+1 no pump. Assuming it's your 3.0i there are threads on several forums about stiff steering and how to fix.
Yes no pump, typo I'm sorry.
