    Homelink mirror

I have an '08 535i that doesn't have the homelink in the mirror. Does the wiring harness have the necessary wires to make it work if I just swap out the mirror with a homelink version?

Only way you would know is if you've done the swap. I suspect most of us already have the homelink mirror and haven't needed/wanted to upgrade.

I did retrofit an auto-dimming, homelink mirror from an '05 E60 into my '98 M3. It was all plug-n-play as I recall.

I figured as much, just didn't think I could be the only one that ever wanted to do this...

It's not that much, so I'm going to give it a go. $30 for a remote from Orchard Supply, $60.00 for the mirror on eBay. I prefer the mirror.

I bought the mirror and tried it out, but the wiring harness isn't outfitted for anything except the base model mirror. You would have to change the harness or add wiring to make it work. I opted to simply buy the keychain garage door opener.
