Passenger seat wont go up and down

On my 1987 325i with the Recaro sport seats the passenger seat wont go up and down. Is this a common problem and is there a solution?

If you're talking about pushing the lever down to raise the seat bottom (up and forward) it's 98% likely the bottom struts are blown. After making sure the pivot points aren't frozen grab the steering wheel and lift your weight and if the seat doesn't lift, you need struts.

The good news is I have complete sets of made in Europe replacement shocks FS. Pm me if you have any questions
