I replaced my p/s pump a few months ago and I also rebuilt my LAD regulator due to leaks. Since then I have this "rattling/vibrating" noise at idle. I can put my hand on the regulator and feel the vibration. If I move the lever just a bit the vibration stops. Ive adjusted this rear suspension as per Bentley and have tried several other ride adjustments with no success, the vibration returns, only at idle. At first I thought it was my Torque converter, yet its got to be in the p/s system. Ive tried bleeding at the regulator as well. Im stumped on this.
How did you bleed the LAD system? And are you positive the vibration is from the regulator valve?
With the car running I opened the bleeder at the regulator, hoping to get air like on brakes and no air. After driving for awhile, when I come to a stop, I have this "vibrating" noise. It sounds like a very large cat purring. In my driveway I can jack it up and hear the purring noise and when I put my hand on the regulator, I can feel the vibration. I can physically move the lever attached to the rear sway bar slightly and it will stop. Im going to put my old pump back on and backtrack my steps???? The noise is very irritating. Very weird.
Passenger side LAD is defective. Its amazing how sound travels. I was contemplating replacing the torque converter. Then I noticed the noise was coming from the back. I could put my hand on the regulator and feel the horrible vibration. After numerous adjusting and playing with the LAD regulator, the vibrating noise continued., I noticed the passenger side LAD was wet and the drivers side wasn't. I swapped it because of that reason only. Topped LAD system off and noise is gone. I hope this post might help someone because it almost broke me.
