    Stalling issue...help pls...yes, I've searched.

Ok...my 2001 530i has a stalling issue that I've been unable to figure out. When warm...after sitting at a stoplight...it'll stall occasionally when I give it the gas to get going. I inspected, found and fixed a vacuum leak on the intake manifold. I didn't see any others. Runs better but the stall remains. Here's what I've done maintenance wise:

    2001 530i
    190,000 miles
    New plugs at 1350,000 miles
    Rebuilt DISA at 135,000 miles
Replaced upper intake boot at 150,000 miles.
    Inspected lower boot...all good.
Removed and cleaned the ICV today. Flap valve was moving.
    New airfilter.
Ran Seafoam in the gas tank for a full tank.

I have not noticed if its more prevelent with a full tank or half a tank of fuel.I'm gonna fill it up today and see what's what.

Any other ideas? I'd like to get this resolved before super cold weather sets in.

Check your ccv hoses and one that hooks to the SAI valve and wraps around the valve cover to back side of the intake manifold.

I did the CCV delete and installed a PCV valve ala the How-to's on here...

    I'll take gander anyways...

    Thanks! Keep the ideas coming!

Okay, check the SAI hose then. That hose gets brittle and can easily crack upon finger touch enough to cause a vacuum leak and potentially stall the engine. No check engine light yet?

SAI....that's a term I'm not familiar with...and yes I've had a CEL light on since I bought it. With the DISA having been bad...i figured that would be the trigger of the light. Haven't had any codes read yet.

I'm hoping its not the fuel pump...I mean I have experience working on cars so that's no biggie but I'm hoping it would be something simpler...

I was also wondering if old coils could contribute to this happening?

Well, read the codes and get back to us. That will help a lot.

Very difficult to help you without codes. There are a number of things that could cause your problem and each of them have codes. So a code could tell you exactly what the problem is or get you very close anyway.

Exacte. The "my CEL light has been on since 1997 but i've never bothered to look at the codes and I have some kind of a problem I want help with!" is a bit frustrating to try to help with.

Could be a 'just starting to go' MAF or O2... or another vac leak...

M54B30's are famous for bad MAF's without a code causing stuff like this... But lets get codes first esp since its lit the light...
