1987 325i Ac compressor swap questions

Okay what I understand I will need a for the conversion
    • Sanden SD508 compressor
    • I will make the mounting brackets
    • Make new hoses
    • A parallel tube condenser
    • a new filter dryer

Am I missing anything also where do people get there hoses made I was wondering if I could get them crimped at a hydraulic hose supply?

Pressure switch, you can do the evaporator if you want but that usually isn't a factor (blow it out with alcohol and air though). A radiator/AC shop should be able to do the hoses. It's best to make them with the car handy so you get the shapes/lengths correct. The Sanden fittings are not in the same place as whatever is coming out.

Yes. There's also a writeup online about the wiring when converting from your current 2-wire switch to the new single-wire one.

The pressure switches are refrigerant specific.

ps this was a typo. The switches don't care where you use them

Jeff is there a specific year that I should look to order for my 1987 325i ac conversion?

Not sur what you are referring to. You are upgrading and converting using after market parts. Figment is the same regardless of year.

Ive used Sanden and more recently a Seltec (5121 IIRC). The key is theybare designed for 134 so generate thenhead pressure to make them efficient. You should also get a 134 expansion valve (that's a must)
