It will work fine. If no direct fan moving air across it, then performance will suffer a little in stop and go traffic. Once moving, should be fine. Not sure if there is room to add a fan on that exchanger.

Today changed engine pulley. After finished decided to drive it agressive. 1st gear is ok but when i switched to second gear my engine switched off. When i am switching it on it is not igniting. Bring my car to shop and checked engine. Inpa showed mistake 112. We changed crank sensor, no results. Checked fuel pump, it works. Checked passenger site in cabine all resistors, all of them good. Then checked ignitions, no ignition. Checked resistors near ecu, all of them with no problem. Changed ecu, no changes.
Any advsie?

A lot of things checked and finaly we found. It was due to my flywheel. It is from e39 m5 with little modification on teeths. One of welded teeth broken and during engine turning crank sensor is confusing. Tommorow will try fix it or change. Meanwhile decided to clean glases. Few weeks ago my circulation hose prior to radiator bleeded off and my HELLA sucked evopurated antifreez and become like smoke inside.

Removed all lamps and filled it by water. Removed water and add inside few shapoo with little water. Shaked verywell.

Then again filled by water few times untill completely remove foam and blew in site by compressed air. Actually last one time i shaked it with distilized water. Below is result.

What modification was needed for the E39 M5 flywheel? Do they have the missing teeth at a different angle than the M62 flywheel? If so, have you verified your timing with a timing light (strobe) afterward? Interesting stuff.
Yes bro, it has different teeth placement. Tommorow i will make a lot of pictures. Any way i am planning soon back to my oem flywheel due to current one is shaking. The only thing which stopping me is the price with delivery to my country about 1500$.

So you modified the teeth on a m5 flywheel so it works on a 540? Post details of teeth mods.

Yes, i did it couple of years ago. Somewhere i already mentioned in my threads. M5 clutch has different teeth placing than 540i. About 70 degree if i am not mistaken and crank sensor a bit upper placed. In other case when engine starts it brokes sensor magnite. Tommorow will be make photos and try to explain how i did it. Hope my english allow me.

I think that is his plan for tomorrow. I'll have to look around on the MSExtra forums and see if anyone has posted up an .MSQ with the tooth #1 angle for an E39 M5.
You do not believe me?)))))) If someone said the same to me perhaps would not believe on it as well. I had not chance and only had one option with m5 flywheel due to no other options. Mine was not work properly.

I believe you, I was just curious what the exact degrees were for each of the wheels. I think I found that the S62 wheel tooth #1 angle seems to be at 92 degrees, and I think the angle on my M62 wheel is at 66 degrees (from memory, my tuning computer is out in the car).
If you go to having MS3 run your engine, you can use any wheel you want, even a front mounted one from an M60.

That ECUmaster looks like it might work great!
I hope you don't mind me mentioning this here, the tuner that priced me up for a new ecu was going to use a link shark as he is happy with those ecu's.

I'm guessing Dov will appreciate the suggestion. During a quick prowl around the ECUmaster forums yesterday, I saw someone asking for a feature to be added, saying that Link already had it, so they were at an advantage in that regard.. I don't remember what the feature was, I just took note that someone was saying Link had an advantage in some way.
Ok, as prommised today was bussy with my FW.

Take it in hand and here is picture where you can see original teeth place and new place.
IMG_0580.jpg
New place broken somehow as showen above. Then we weld there new tooth and grind it a bit. Angel difference between m5 and 540 teeth is about 20 degree. Below you can see new tooth.
IMG_0581.jpg
You can see big teeth above, then we grind it and made similar with other teethes.

HA!!! That is awesome ingenuity!
How close do you think you are to having exactly correct timing? Have you checked with an old timing light/strobe?
Bro, when i did it last time it was correct. But, this time i did not becouse did not find it. I lost the contacts of that person who made for me some kind of round type puley on my crank where i indicated first cylinder spark degree. I switched on to spark on 1 cylinder and every time light was on the same position. Of course when throttle to idle. If i have free time i may handmade it again and check.

Some strange thing is happening. Here iz the video attached. Can you please have a look and give your opinion gents.
Engine run smooth but reach afr 13.5 max. When switching gear become 10 or even less. Also, less than 10 when throttle to idle. When engine is working few seconds it is becoming max 12.5 - 13.5 again. Never 14.7 so far.

What are your short and long term trims doing? (additive and multiplicative trims)

I thought it might be something to do with the trims, but I really couldn't see on the video what is happening. Are the trims staying at zero even when the engine is fully warm and you are driving it?
