I was working on replacing the brake lights, and I had an issue.
I bought these aftermarket lights and one of the wires were sticking out. The wire touched a piece of metal and now that specific bulb does not turn on. Its the idle brake light, the one that lights up whether or not you're touching the brake pedal. This is on the driver side and I tried testing a different brake light and that specific one still didn't work.
I checked fuse #23 in the front and its not blown or anything. I don't know what else to do.
In fact, I got pulled over for it, and now I have a "Get it fixed" ticket.
This is the rear light that turns on when you turn on the headlights, correct? Run a patch wire from the passenger side tail light. Janky, but it'll get you passed the fix it ticket quickly.
And then you can hunt for where ever you shorted the wire, or more likely not.
And post pics, no one knows what aftermarket lights means. There are tons of options so you're not really giving us a lot to work with, besides the fact that you broke something.
If your e30 runs bad, switch to Megasquirt first. Then try new spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, oxygen sensor, crank shaft position sensor, coolant temp sensor, air flow meter, idle control valve, throttle position sensor, digital motor electronics unit, harmonic balancer, fuel injectors, engine harness...
