How far down roof has to go

2003 Z4 2.5i and all automatic roof option, opens and closes fine but how far down it has to go when you open? It goes down half an inch away to lock it place and i have to just push it down to locking place.
It doesn't go all the way and lock itself.
Do i have to adjust something, this is the way should be?
Also if any of you knows, mesh wind deflector, where those securing clips has to go.

It should lock into place on its own

I actually have this same problem too. I simply push it down after walking to the car while the top is lowering.

I was curious why it's not locking down into the little center thing.

So some locks in place some not.
