    '13 328i E93; '99 528it

    Scanner Cant Read e39 VIN

    Tried to scan a 99 528it with a Schwaben Foxwell NT510. It couldnt read the VIN.
    Ive got an Airbag indicator light im trying to figure cause of and possibly clear. Any suggestions?

    I believe your car is not new enough to propagate the vin on the scan tool.
    When i bought my snap on, i remember something about an 01or 02 and down cutoff for that function.
    I have to manually tell it for scanning the 98.

    I thought 96 was the cutoff but maybe thats just for OBDII compliance. I tried manually too on the Foxwell but no go. Anybody know if INPA or PA Soft will work on late 90's BMWs?

    My Foxwell won't read my E39, but I use the laptop for that.
