Stock radio to 16:9 Nav screen

Hi everyone,

As the title says, the car in question has a stock cassette deck, is it possible to just switch out the radio and climate control to the widescreen display or would you have to do the complete navigation system swap including the unit in the trunk?

Get a dynavin unit. Non nav cars are not wired for navigation. The amount of wiring that is needed to use a oem nav system in a car that is not wired for navigation is huge. Too much work for a 20 year old system. Dynavin units look like oem nav but are plug and play in non nav cars and have newer modern features that the bmw navigation system did not have.

You need everything in the trunk. The screen is just a screen.... It requires modules for each feature, including the radio. All of which are in the trunk.

BMW sells a retrofit harness that makes the wiring considerably easier, but unless you have a parts car with a complete working system its going to cost you more to source all the modules and screen(not to mention the new center console for the dash, and the brackets for the trunk and different paneling) then you would spend on a dynavin.
