Kai (Sharkfest coordinator) just sent out information and with great sadness announced the passing of George MItchell.
George was active both in the 6 and 8 community. Many of you will remember George as the kind and gentle soul who donated shark teeth (and jaws) for the Sharkfest registration packets and raffle for the past half-decade. Last year, despite significant health issues, he was able to make it to one last Sharkfest (he provided the cute dancing solar sharks). Other's may remember him at the 10th Anniversary of the West Coast 8 Fest where he brought his ALPINA B12 5.0.
George and I had the opportunity to sit, talk, and we often called each other about 8 matters. He had a summer home here in Florida close to us, and when he would come down I had the pleasure to meet him and share stories at our house. George imported the second ALPINA B12 5.0 into the US after mine, and then it eventually traveled back to Germany to its new owner.
George fought courageously against Parkinson’s Disease (and numerous other ailments) for nine years - and did so with great dignity and humor. He will be missed greatly by our little family.
A celebration of George's life will be held at the following time and location:
Tuesday, November 21st
Time: 4:00 – 8:00 PM
Place: Butler Country Club
Address: 310 Country Club Road, Butler, PA 16002
Phone: (724) 586-7701
RSVP: (if attending) Tammy Cardosi (Tammy@FiberconFiber.com)
Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
The 6 and 8 community will miss George, as another enthusiast has journeyed to the great roads in the sky.
