Hello,
I am here to get some inputs on which X3 should I go for. Now that the new 2018 model is out, is that a better buy?
I test drove both 2017 X3 (loaner cars with less than 5k miles) and the new 2018 X3. From the price point, the 2017 X3 is more appealing:
2017 X3 Discounted price - 43K(tags and title additional)
zero percent financing for 60 months offer.
So, total out-the-door comes to approx 45k on this 2017 x3. It is fully loaded with navigation, premium, drivers assist etc. packages. Upgraded saddle brown interiors as well.
In my mind, if the dealer gives a great price for 2017 X3, then I feel its worth buying an older model. If not, I would rather spend a few thousand more and go for 2018. So I am here to get your valuable advice on what do you all consider a great price for 2017 X3 with about 4000 miles on it.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
Hi, you'll have to give the engine type and packages I. e. Cold weather, HUD , msport, etc.
Fully loaded could mean a 5k set of upgraded wheels.

It is a 2017 BMWX3 xDrive28i with 4,340 miles
Engine: I-4 cyl
It has the following packages:
Cold Weather Package
- Heated Steering Wheel
- Heated front seats
- Heated rear seats
- Retractable headlight washers
Driving Assistance Package
- Rear view camera
- Park Distance Control
Lighting Package
- Xenon headlights
- Adaptive light control
Premium Package 3
- Comfort Access keyless entry
- Panoramic moonroof
- Lumbar support
- SiriusXM Radio w/ 1 year sub.
Upon browsing the 2018 just now, it looks like that engine is discontinued, and I thought it was underpowered to begin with. If the 17 was a 3.0 it would be different. I personally would not get a 4 cylinder. I'm also not saying you should buy the new 18 either. If you're open to slightly used, I would keep looking. If money isn't an issue, spec out an 18 and get that.

P. S. Try something with the Sport seats and the Comfort seats.
Imo, give up the navigation and use Google maps. The BMW nav is bad, bad, bad.

Thank you. The price and the 0% financing is appealing. Although, I am not sure if 45k out-the door is a good price on 28i.
Aside from it not being a good deal, if you're buying a BMW to also get that 'BMW ' feel and performance, I'm not sure you could choose a worse setup on a Sav platform. I've owned 2 now, the first iteration and a 2013 with a 6 cylinder, msport and some Dinan after market add-ons. If this is for driving the kids to soccer nothing wrong with it except the price to me.

$43k is not a terrible price for what you describe, but I would try to get it for less as the 2018's are out and selling. Maybe if they will throw in the extended maintenance plan and some extras like all weather floor mats, cargo area cover and mat, updated navigation maps, etc.
