Anyone have a picture of how this bowden cable attaches to the right hand side (US passenger) fresh air door to the blower motor? Spring (in hand) seems to wind the opposite way from what I would expect, and the Bentley manual is E38 specific which appears to have a completely different configuration.
Check repair manual to see if there are more details regarding this. I’ve had mine apart 2-3 times and interestingly, mine doesn’t have this cable even though it is described...

Mine looks like Timms. The spring helps hold the flaps open (up). So the tension should be oriented as such

Ummm. No cable? Mine has the spring, but the cable looks like it's intended to push/pull below the axis of the door (which would be the reverse of the spring action, I think). There is apparently some connection on the other side of the unit (towards the passenger compartment), but I don't know how it's connected
