    750 without center muffler sound?

Anyone run their 750 without a center muffler? My exhaust is pretty trashed after the catalytic converters. A while back I found a brand new ANSA Italian made muffler for the E32, same style for free on craigslist. Some guy moved into his new home and found it in the attic. Anyway, looking through ebay and usual parts sites, they only sell both the rear and middle muffler units together, used or new for quite a bit of money and I dont need the rear muffler.

So I was thinking of just having a shop run a straight pipe from the CATs to the new rear muffler. Wouldnt be more than about $80 total. I am just not sure what it would sound like, I wouldnt mind a deeper growl but worried it might be too loud and drone. Anyone have this kind of setup? I cant find anything like that on youtube.

the resonator does the job of killing drone. muffler delete will sound nice while keeping the drone down, just a little more volume. you will have a spot around 2000 that will have some drone

i'd probably replace the stock resonator with an aftermarket one if you'd like to keep the volume and drone down. for more volume i'd do a muffler delete

Thanks, I am afraid of having a drone. Ive done this to my 2010 VW CC and came out with great results just deleting resonator, but the V12 is a whole other beast lol. Any recommendations as far as aftermarket resonator? Unless I come across a used pair, I cant justify spending so much on a resonator from BMW.

If you remove it by simply cutting and bypassing with a temporary setup, you can always reinstall it. Yeah, more work. But my point is you are not stuck with your decision. For my car, everyones loves the sound. It got a great V12 hum under acceleration. No drone. The exhaust is very, very customized by strategic locations of hole-creating rust. So I actually have NO idea what a stock system even sounds like! But the biggest hole is just before the muffler.

Yea mine just sounds like puffs of air coming out all around the exhaust, mainly aft of the cats. I will try just a straight pipe after the cats to the new rear muffler, if its too much ill take it back and ask them to weld in a resonator, or wait till I find a good one online somewhere. Right now I cant find any for sale.
