528i E39 Brakes and Power steering

I started to have this issue a few days ago...

Wen I start the car the steering is as light as normal, but as soon as I hit the brakes it becomes extremely hard!
It gets better after a while without braking but returns wen the brakes are pressed. It seems to be get worse if I brake harder

Is there a connection between the two systems? What could be the problem?
I did replace the belt two months ago but haven't had any issues until now!

Booster is shot. Rusted or filled with water.
