    DSS Question

    Just received a DSS driveshaft supposed to be for a ZF 5 speed and 210mm diff.
    Went to install it and have a couple questions;
    1) The cap on the end of the CV A) Has a bulge in it that doesn't allow the driveshaft to sit flush with the diff, it leaves a small gap. And B) doesn't fit inside the lip on the diff that the stock driveshaft fits in.
    2) The CV has to be almost completely extended in order for the length of the driveshaft to be correct. Is this normal..?

    There are 2 aluminium cups that need to be bolted to the diff and the ZF. Then the shaft. So 3 pieces.

    Two aluminum cups? I have the aluminum adapter that bolts to the ZF and converts that flange to a 4 bolt flange.

    There is also an aluminium adapter on the diff side. 3 pieces and a bunch of bolts.

    We got it figured out. The guy just forgot the diff flange adapter. All is good in the world. I was about to shoot myself, like I know how to install a driveshaft why am I having so much trouble with this... lmao. Oh well, glad we got it sorted.
    Thanks butters

    This car has gotten so wildly impractical that I honestly don't care if it vibrates.

    I'm about one more ridiculous mod away from gutting the freaking car and saying fuck it. Pure race car.

    I think I have had 3 of those new versions. They all added significant nvh over 100. But I have read of a few people say theirs were fine.

    None broke. Changed for other reasons — first was for 188mm, 2nd was for 210mm and 3rd was foam filled for 210mm to reduce the singing sound at 55-75 on the highway that you may hear if you have a quiet exhaust.

    I installed a louder muffler on my car to cover up some of the noise from the driveshaft.

    I already had the louder muffler as it is what I use for track days. It produces a lower reading on the dB meter at the track than my quiet muffler.
