Anyone have an air bag from a heated steering wheel setup? (Post face)

As I continue to figure out the electricals on getting my 'new' heated steering wheel working, I recall that the airbag I removed from the original steering wheel does not fit nicely into the heated wheel. There seems to be a lot more 'mass' in the way by the wiring for the heating elements into the wheel that don't allow the airbag and control buttons to seat nicely/snuggly into the wheel. When tightened in, it sticks up 1/4 to a 1/2 an inch.

Does anyone have an extra they can spare from a known heated steering setup? Or, what I need to do to make mine fit?

    Thank you,

    Jay

E38 I assume. Single or dual airbag? I have a dual stage heated wheel and air bag from my E39. Same wheel.

Yes, E38 (sorry I didn't specify). And post-facelift, (slip ring without the 200 yards or coiled up copper? winding), thought not sure if single or dual airbag; how do I tell? How much do you want for your setup, or just the airbag, assuming it works in my setup?

    Thank you.

The airbag that I have is dual stage. The switch to dual stage airbags took place in March of 1999. Does yours look like the pictures I've attached? I'd like $70 plus shipping for the air bag.

Yes, mine looks like yours. Thank you! One quick ask: Can you take a picture of the other side of your steering wheel; where the airbag sits in? Again, my issue is that airbag that came from a nonheated wheel does not sit flush into the heated wheel I bought. Not sure if it's the 'cutout' of the heated wheel or the base of the airbag that is the issue.

That makes sense. The air bag used with heated steering wheels has a different part number than the non heated wheels.

    Heated - 32346751475
    Non-heated - 32346751474
