    Rearview Mirror and mounting question

I have seen quite a few different mirrors and none have the same box with them. Also I am missing the mounting location. Can anyone provide me with part numbers or point me in right direction to getting this fixed?
Stole the car for $800. It's just a little rough on the eyes at the moment.
Here is what I have / don't have:

    Ouch!

Yeah the best thing to do is replace the glass. Now do you still have the stud? Any part of the mirror still around? From looking at it I think you have the "SOS" and auto dimming mirror, and they like to leak out.

You can install a normal mirror back in there, but you will still need the plastic surround parts too.

Lastly if asked what type of windshield you need, it will be the one with the rain sensor.

The windshield is what I feared. Was hoping if I could find a mirror and mounting base I could just epoxy the base back on but no I do not have anything more than what you see here.

Trust me when I say that it will be hard to reattached a stud to the glass.

Have a call to your Insurance company to see what their policy is with a rock chipped/cracked windshield. If they cover that, then I would say you have a "cracked" windshield and see about getting it replaced, as it looks cracked to me around the stud area.

Attaching it to the glass will be very hard. I've seen a few epoxies that work on glass, PC-7 would work (though it would look like hell).

okay this is just my two cents here having had the same problem....I was able to re-glue (gorilla glue) the metal piece back on...bought a new rearview mirror to install (due to leakage from first mirror)...installed it and it worked for all of two weeks before new mirror leaked again. So I bought an after market mirror with a 4.3 inch hidden cam, and back-up camera, and it has been working ever since...my problem came from what to do with the mirror plug...(I just pulled it into the roof light/sun roof area and left it there. I much rather have the back-up cam/mirror than the auto dimming mirror, which really didn't do me any good since I have dark tint on the back windscreen....but, this is my two cents...good luck

I’m having this same dilemma whether I should just get a regular mirror to install in place of the leaked auto dimming one or if I should spend the coin to get the proper replacement as this is not my daily driver. More like my garaged baby that only see the road every couple weeks. So I hate to cheapen it, but I also want my damn mirror to work.

I would look at a Pick-n-Pull yard for a normal mirror, should be about 10 bucks. But if you want to fix the leak self dimming mirror, I have use these guys in the past.
