I come the forum seeking help to anyone that has had to remove their intake manifold on an E46 equipped with an M56 engines, or at least that's how mine is set up
Anyways, there's this metal piece bolted to the manifold around the area of where the oil filter housing is, it's metal lines and I do not know if there is a proper way of disconnecting this line for it is attached to the manifold and the manifold cannot be removed without disconnecting these lines.. If anyone has had to take these off before I'd like to know if there's a special type of way or do I just disconnect em and not worry about anything.
Thanks in advance.
OK got that...I had my 03 up on my lift last week...before the cold...ALL exhaust system...all connections, including BOLTS from the headers are TOO heavily corroded. nuts and bolts.....TOTAL exhaust system....$4500 BMW New London.
Yikes? Go to www.realoem.com and enter the last 7 characters of the car’s VIN. Hit enter and bookmark the page. Scroll down to the exhaust system. Get the part #s for what you need. Be advised you’re going need some real heat and/or the power saw to remove the bolts. You’ll also need to press in some new bolts, especially at the exhaust manifold to exhaust system union. Don’t scrimp on those bolts and nuts.
I would think if you followed the line you wil probably find a nut that would undo the line, I don think it requires any thing special. But there are those type of line fittings that snap together on those you have to press the plastic piece i while pushing on the pipe?
