Apparently ECS has their own brand of coilovers (most likely just FKs or something rebranded) but they have a set that works for 525i, 528i, 530i and 540i for $355 right now.

this would be good for me except it'll cost me 640$ because I live in a frozen wasteland called Canada.
^you can always travel south install the coilovers then drive home!
But yes we've released our own entry-level coilovers for the E39!
I'm more concerned that they are listed as compatible with I6 and V8 cars... The front suspension is different between the two from the factory; why do these work with both?

Also, those front shock top mounts are in no way compatible with the E39's shock towers. What other parts need to be purchased to make these work?
I like ECS; I really do. But a few of your products are under-engineered or don't tell the full story.

Those top mounts are just plates to hold the spring onto the shock until removed and an OEM top mount is used...
You'd need OEM top mounts front & rear and whilst you're doing that, IMO, new drop links may as well go on at the same time as they're not expensive and easy enough to do whilst everything else is off etc!

I'd bet money that these are the exact same generic coilovers as you can get from eBay like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/RSK-Street-...dZ0XQK&vxp=mtr
There is absolutely nothing wrong with them at all -- they are phenomenal for the money, but I'm not sure you really get anything extra for dealing with ECStuning. And just to be clear, I'm a fan of ECS Tuning. I buy quite a bit of stuff from them, and I really like some of their branded products like their wheel spacers.
Yeah. I mean there's "works" and "works"... I can see "making it work" with both but at any given perch setting the ride height is gonna be lower on the V8 for sure. And that will be mostly on the front, so the effective preload once the car is leveled out (don't tell gmak I said "corner balanced") will be much higher on the rear for the V8 car than the I6 car, if you follow.

Those look pretty rad. I'm glad there's a cheap option that's backed by a reputable seller (eBay can be a mixed bag). If I didn't already have a bunch of money invested into my Koni Yellow setup, I'd buy these in a heartbeat.
